Auction Results: Photographs, Icons & Style, July 1, 2014 @Christie’s Paris

It was a workmanlike summer outing for photography in Paris earlier this week, as the fashion themed sale at Christie’s brought in Total Sale Proceeds squarely in the middle of the range. The perfect run of Penn skulls certainly helped some, but the overall Buy-In rate of just over 25% was surprisingly strong given the distractions of the hot months.

87.64% of the lots that sold had proceeds in or above the estimate range and there was only 1 surprise in the sale (defined as having proceeds of at least double the high estimate):
