Auction Results: Contemporary Photographs, October 1, 2020 @Sotheby’s

A bit too much softness in the mid price tier muted the results of the Contemporary Photographs sale at Sotheby’s in New York last week. Rare vintage prints from Valie Export performed well, and the top lot Cindy Sherman film still found a buyer, but in the end, the Total Sale Proceeds (of just over $1.1M) fell at the low end of the aggregate pre-sale range.
