Auction Results: Color Vision: Master Prints from Guy Stricherz and Irene Malli, June 27, 2025 @Phillips (online)

As a follow up to the initial sale of William Eggleston dye transfer printers’ proofs from the collection of Guy Stricherz and Irene Malli last March (results here), this sale at Phillips dug deeper into the Eggleston catalog and added works by a handful of other names. A set of prints from Bruce Davidson’s “Subway” project took the top lot honors. The overall Buy-In rate was under 5%, and with twenty positive surprises to push the numbers up further, the Total Sale Proceeds (of roughly $770K) came in near the top end of the aggregate pre-sale estimate range.
